Other Neat Stuff I’ve Done
“Life’s Gone Downhill Since the Playground”
“Lifes Gone Downhill Since the Playground” is a sculptural piece that plays with the juxtaposition of the weightlessness inherent to childhood being kept down by the weight of obligation in adulthood. The weight is covered with things like student loan statements and paperwork from the office I was working in at the time. The balloon is made of papier-mâché and is held up by a wire creating the illusion of weightlessness.
Styrofoam, papier-mâché, candy wrappers, wire, cap gun rings.

Cast and sculpted plaster mounted on wood and fabric placards
“The Body Parts Collection” is an ongoing project I started when I was in college. The goal of the project is to cast volunteer’s perceived “bodily flaws” in plaster to mimic Greek statues. I believe that by embracing our flaws and elevating them to the level of classical art, we can learn to appreciate the things that make our bodies unique works of art.
